FavorPrep™ Lysozyme Solution is extracted from chicken egg white, that is designed as a ready-to-used formula for breaking down bacterial cell walls in nucleic acid extraction. During bacterial cell lysis, particularly when working with Gram-positive bacteria, standard lysis methods may not be sufficient due to their thick peptidoglycan cell walls. Moreover, mechanical disruption can cause severe DNA fragmentation, affecting downstream molecular biology applications. Lysozyme helps break down the cell wall, making DNA extraction more efficient and preserving fragment integrity. FavorPrep™ Lysozyme Solution is bacterial DNA/RNA free, it is applicable to bacteriological studies. It can be applied in microbiota analysis studies, microbial pathogen analysis, and bacterial genome and transcriptome analysis.
